A little about….

When we first became Chinese with the adoption of our beautiful daughter in 2008, we always knew we would return to explore this wonderful part of our family’s heritage.    Our daughter was 5 years old when we became a family, so she certainly had exposure to the food and language but probably little exposure to the heritage and history of this vast country.  Our traveling party included Ann’s dad Steve who was also present on our adoption trip to bring Andrea home.  On our way we would stop over in Los Angelas and spend a day at Disneyland as a Christmas bonus for Andrea.  Then it would be on to China where we would spend the first week with a larger group organized by Gladney as a heritage trip for children adopted from China.  We would begin in Beijing and then travel to Xi’an, Ya’an (outside Chengdu and near the Bi Feng Xia Panda Center)  and Chengdu before striking out on our own to Guilin, Yangshuo, Guangzhou and finally back to Andrea’s hometown of Harbin before returning home.
